A collaboration between PPH, Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP), and students from City-As-Schools.
As we rely more on the Internet as a tool for communication, education,
employment, and research information, it is important that we
understand more about how the Internet works. "The Internet is Serious
Business" is a video about the Internet's physical infrastructure, who
owns it, how it works, and why that matters.
In addition to the video, we have also developed a comprehensive
workshop series around the concepts and themes in the film. Our
workshops are aimed at engaging classrooms, community centers, and
audiences in a meaningful conversation about how we can make
the Internet better and make it work for us. We have packaged our
teaching tools and workshop activities in a short companion guide that
educators and facilitators can use to conduct workshops in their own
communities.
