With controversy raging over a North Carolina program that pays teens $1 per each day they don't get pregnant, teens from a NYC high school in Brooklyn decided  to weigh in ~ dramatically!‬

This radio drama begins with the daunting facts that ring and repeat in a young teen mother's head.  How can teen parents choose between raising their child and pursuing school?  The students from Brooklyn Theatre Arts High School researched, wrote, produced, and acted in this radio drama.‬

This week, groups are protesting the broadcast of CNN's new series "Latinos in America" while the cable news channel continues to air the views of controversial host Lou Dobbs.  The "Basta Dobbs" campaign has held events across the country to pressure CNN to take Lou Dobbs off the air.  CNPI Reporter Jaisal Noor filed this report for Free Speech Radio News.

Stella D'Oro employees organized a rally on September 25th, 2009 in NYC to demand actions from the City Council.

The Bronx-based popular cookie and bread stick baker was recently sold to another company and is said to shut down its Bronx plant to move to Ohio. CNPI reporter Zoilo Blass of Make The Road New York By Walking briefly spoke to one of the employees, Oskar Hernandez who has worked for Stella D'Oro  for 22 years. (Interview conducted in Spanish)

On July 23rd, community organizers and housing advocates took over a vacant lot in East Harlem to demand an end to homelessness.

Several hours after the take-over, NYPD officers moved in to arrest the organizers. Community News Production Institute reporters Kristofer Rios, Christine Lewis, Ravi Ragbir and Jaisal Noor were there to cover the event. This report was filed for FSRN.
